What is in a Typical Share? This is a difficult question to answer as it varies week to week based on seasonality and availability. However, here are few boxes we’ve put together in the past year.

September Sample Share

  • Produce: Boston Lettuce, Field Cucumbers, Celery, Leeks, Kale, Field Tomatoes, Zucchini, Peaches, Peppers, Broccoli, Shallots
  • Meat: Lamb Sausage
  • Dairy: Unsalted Butter – instead of cheese this week you will be getting an amazing butter from the tiny village of Stirling Ontario. It was rated in the Top 30 butters of the world by Saveur Magazine.
  • Pantry Item: Spelt Flour

October Sample Share

  • Produce: Green Cabbage, Garlic, Leeks, Clapp Pears, Sovereign Coronation Grapes, German Butterball Potatoes, Asian Salad Mix, Carrots, Turnips, Hubbard Squash
  • Meat: Duck – don’t panic…the duck is pre cooked so you just need to reheat it. Top with a nice orange sauce or blueberry maple reduction (literally, smash up some blueberries, add a bit of maple syrup, heat to a boil, and pour over duck – super easy)
  • Cheese: Niagara Gold
  • Pantry Item: Peanuts –Salted and Unsalted

December Sample Share

  • Produce: English Cucumber, Multi-Colour Beets, Salad Greens, Multi-Colour Carrots, Shallots, Sweet Potatoes, Garlic. Pears, Peppers, Shiitake Mushrooms, Sweet Curry Hubbard squash, Crispin Apples
  • Meat: Ground Beef – pasture-raised and finished on grain.
  • Cheese: White Cheddar Cheese Curd – Black River Cheese, Prince Edward County
  • Pantry Item: Popping Corn – on the cob!

February Sample Share

  • Produce: Apples, Pears, Salad Greens, Cooking Greens, Red Cabbage, Yellow Onions, Baking Potatoes, Yellow Sweet Potatoes, Jerusalem Artichokes (also known as sunchokes). Roast with a mélange of potatoes and root vegetables, garlic and onions (and even apples or pears) with for an easy, tasty side dish.
  • Meat: Stewing pork, Ham Hocks – follow our recipe for baked navy beans with your ham hock. We promise it will be the best baked beans you’ve ever tasted.
  • Cheese: Horseradish Cheddar
  • Pantry Items: Wheat Berries, Rye Flour, Canned Whole Tomatoes, Navy Beans
